If you've seen them before, no doubt you'll come again and if you have never yet seen them, don't miss it! Once again Wesla and her brilliant pianist/husband Mike Greensill will grace our stage. She has the ability to involve and excite her audience and her successful concerts, from Carnegie Hall to the White House (invited by Hillary Clinton) prove it. Her sound and approach would seem to place her somewhere in the intriguing area that borders on both jazz and that aspect of pop music which draws its material largely from the great standards and neglected gems of such as Cole Porter and Irving Berlin and Rodgers and Hart. She has been developing her skills and learning her demanding craft for a many years, and her performances reflect her great understanding of the material she sings. Yaelisa & Flamencos Caminos - Saturday, September 12, 2009, 7:30 World/Flamenco In three years, this Festival has become the second largest and most comprehensive flamenco festival in North America, offering master classes, workshops, educational activities in conjunction with performances from visiting Spanish companies, as well as Yaelisa’s Caminos Flamencos. Yaelisa is also the founder and Artistic Director of The New World Flamenco Festival, presented each year at the Irvine Barclay Theater in Irvine, California. In 2005, Yaelisa and her company were honored to receive an Isadora Duncan Dance Award in for excellence in the category of “Best Company Performance.” The Company has received two major grants from the SF Arts Commission, and continues to be one of the most prolific performing arts groups in the Bay Area.

Entering its sixth successful year, she continues to present her work and those of emerging artists each month at the ODC Cafe Flamenco Series at the ODC Theater. In 1998 Yaelisa was commissioned to choreograph and perform in the San Jose Repertory Theater's production of "Twelfth Night," with original music by Musical Director Jason McGuire and Company members.
Yealisa is the recipient of an Emmy Award for Choreography in 1993 for the PBS program, "Desde Cádiz a Sevilla," and a Choreography Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1996. All this made for evenings of brilliance and enchantment throughout the Dark Ages. Filled with love, passion, magic, and death, it captivated the listeners because it was the very mirror of their own hearts, minds and souls.
But one legend was told and beloved beyond all others, The Romance of Tristan and Iseult.
The long, dark nights of Medieval Europe were rich with stories. Patrick Ball and the Medieval Beasts will take us back to the Middle Ages with "The Flame of Love," the romance of Tristan and Iseult, told with music through the vielle, harp, drum, psaltery and the singing voice.
